Protein Bliss Balls - Two Ways

These easy to make protein bliss balls will keep you energized and satisfied for longer. Delicious and nutritious, these bliss balls are packed with protein, gluten free, dairy free and contain no added salt or sugar. It's hard to believe that something this tasty can be so good for you, I know!
Choc Mint Bliss Balls
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup dates
- 1/2 cup cashews (preferably unsalted - to optimise nutritional value and limit water retention)
- 1 Tbsp. maple syrup (sugar free recommended)
- 1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup dessicated coconut (to coat)
METHOD:
1. Blend cocoa powder, dates and cashews in a food processor until thouroughly combined. Mixture should be not too chunky.
2. Add maple syrup and peppermint extract. Blend until combined. Taste to see if extra is needed.
3. Portion out balls to preferred size and roll in dessicated coconut to coat.
4. Pop on baking paper in an airtight container in fridge. Allow to set for at least 30 min.
Apricot, Vanilla and Coconut Bliss Balls
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup dried apricots
- 1/2 cup cashews (preferably unsalted - to optimise nutritional value and limit water retention)
- 1 Tbsp. maple syrup (sugar free recommended)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 cup dessicated coconut (half for mixture and halft to coat)
METHOD:
1. Blend protein powder, apricot, cashews and half of the coconut in a food processor until thouroughly combined. Mixture should not be too chunky.
2. Add maple syrup and vanilla extract. Blend until combined. Taste to see if extra is needed.
3. Portion out balls to preferred size and roll in dessicated coconut to coat.
4. Pop on baking paper in an airtight container in fridge. Allow to set for at least 30 min.
There you have it! A perfect recipe for a post-workout snack or a treat for work/school during those long days for extra fuel. These babies can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Gluten free and dairy free, with no added salt or sugar and are packed with protein!
