Updated: May 6, 2020

Protein smoothie bowls are the latest trend right now and I'm here to help you out with this simple Berry Mango Protein Smoothie Bowl recipe that you can recreate. Protein smoothie bowls are very popular amongst people who like to maintain their fitness and engage in regular exercise. The reason for this despite it being SUPER delicious, is that it is very much an easy and healthy way for you to consume many of the essential vitamins and minerals which your body needs. It is also packed with protein (hence the name 'Protein Smoothie Bowl'). Anyone interested in building or maintaining muscle will tell you that consuming protein after a workout is important for adequate muscle repair, and to facilitate the growth of those muscles which were just utilized. So why not give this one a go?

Super fun, and best of all you can add whatever toppings you like!

Berry Mango Protein Smoothie Bowl

Serves: 1

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 cup frozen mangoes

- 1 cup frozen mixed berries

- 1/2 cup baby spinach

- 1 Tbsp acai powder

- 1 Tbsp (heaped) greek yoghurt

- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

- 2 cups coconut water

Toppings of your choice (to add to smoothie bowl in last step)

METHOD:

1. Add all ingredients to a blender.

2. Blend, taking breaks to push the mixture down each time with a spoon to allow frozen chunks to blend completely (turn blender off when pushing ingredients down). This may take some time and patience. Add more coconut water if necessary. The mixture should be quite thick and smooth.

3. Once the mixture has blended completely, transfer to a bowl and decorate with your favourite toppings!

There you have it! A simple and delicious protein smoothie bowl recipe to keep on hand. For toppings, as pictured above I used granola, toasted coconut flakes and cacao nibs for one bowl and banana, toasted coconut flakes and cacao nibs for the other. Both equally yummy! This recipe is also super fun to do with kids, however, I would substitute the protein powder for something like Nestle Vanilla Sustagen or just add more baby spinach and yoghurt.

Stay happy and healthy,
